Week 13

Don't forget that Monday, Nov. 13 is a minimum Day!

Phonics - This week we will learn about soft c (ce, ci, cy) and about long i spelled i_e.  AR starts fresh.  I hope you all signed up for home connect so you can encourage your students to read and take the AR comprehension tests.  There are lots of prizes and awards - don't let your student miss out!

Math - More subtraction strategies.  Practice math facts with 6's.

P.E. - We will be playing kickball.

Social Studies - We are talking about goods and services, and Thanksgiving.

Our field trip to the Mt. SAC Planetarium is on Wednesday.  Have your student wear a spirit shirt if you have one.  The planetarium is only allowing 2 parents per class as chaperones.  I offered the spots to the room moms and to our Art Academy parents.  Both spots have been spoken for - I wish everyone who wanted to go could go.

Friday is our First Grade Thanksgiving Feast.  If you have not yet done so, please send $3.00 to cover the cost.  If you are able to come and help with the feast, please send me an email.  Parents will set up at 10:50 and we should be done by 11:45.

Report cards will go home with students on Friday.  Have a great week!
