Notes following WEEK 7 

I enjoyed meeting with you for conferences this week.  Thanks for all you do!

MISC.:  make-up pictures on 10/4 for students who were absent.

PHONICS - Sound/ spelling focus:  /sh/, /th/, /ch/, /tch/ (tch is the /ch/ spelling after a short vowel - ie. catch)

Some of our 5th grade buddies came in this week to help us learn how to get into Accelerated Reader (AR) and take a test on a book our student read.  The kids loved the individual attention and did well.  Each student took at least one AR test this week.

MATH -  Math is basic math facts and making sense of addition and subtraction to 10.  We will have a quiz later in the week, but no test this week.

P.E. - Our students will be running this week:  Mon., Wed., and Fri.

Our BIG FALL FUNDRAISER:  FUN RUN!  Monday is kick-off for the fall fundraiser.  The Fun Run!!  Students will be looking for sponsors to raise money as part of the Fun Run, to support our school's efforts in field trips and all the other amazing things the PTA does to enhance the education program at our school.  Every little bit helps!  Please support our Fall Fun Run Fundraiser.  If each student in our class raised $36 we would have $1000! 

BUDDIES:  On Wednesday, we will meet with our buddies for some reading time at the end of the school day.  Mrs. Friesen and I try to get them together at least once per month. We usually do some easy craft projects and some reading.  We love our buddy program!
