Notes following WEEK 14

I hope each family had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great week off.  My sons, husband and I always share the day with my mom and sister who live in Mission Viejo.  Good food and fun times!

HOMEWORK:  As I mentioned at 'Back to School Night', and as referenced in the homework section of this site, if homework takes too long, please stop and write me a note or email. Your student will not be penalized.  I don't expect 1st graders to spend more than 40 minutes per day on homework (including reading).  Remember that the most important homework is reading - do this first!  :)

Also, if you ever find a math page missing from the workbook, just send me a note or email.

PHONICS - long o spelled ow and oa; long u spelled ew and ue; and ow (like 'cow') spelled ow.

MATH -  we will continue to take timed math facts tests - we start with addition and the kids love it.  Please get/make some flash cards to help your student learn their math

P.E. - Our students will be working on kicking a ball.

ART - Our first Art Academy (formerly Picture Person) lesson is Friday.  Thank you to the parent volunteers who are leading this instruction.
